" We arrived Wednesday evening, September the 5th of 2002 at Portland
airport, Oregon. After 16 hours of flight, we were rather tired, yet
very excited to see at last "for real" the American continent
that we had seen so often on the screen.

" Once in the Portland airport, we split; Isa and Caro sleeping
at some friends' in Portland whereas my host family was driving me back
to Corvallis right away. Although I was very tired I was still awake
enough to notice this weird feeling that we were going very slow on
the highway. I soon realized - to my despair - that the speed limit
in Oregon doesn't exceed 65 miles per hour, that is barely 110 km/h.
