Ci-joint le lien vers un article de France Info qui fait mal là où ça passe. Ça parle du premier démantèlement stoppé d’une centrale nucléaire française, à Brennilis en Bretagne. Le démantèlement, c’est la déconstruction pas à pas de la centrale nucléaire (généralement arrivée en fin de vie) par EDF, avec confinement des matériaux radioactifs et dépollution des sols, de façon à remettre le site en état. C’est une opération très coûteuse, mais c’est également un savoir-faire à développer à tout prix pour l’opérateur historique, car le “marché du démantèlement” dans le monde s’ouvre aujourd’hui alors que la plupart des centrales nucléaires des années 70 arrivent en fin de vie : une aubaine pour l’électricien français. This morning reading the latest post from the IDEO blog, I discovered with delight the “Worst EU Lobbying Awards” website. The website is organized by Corporate Europe Observatory, Friends of the Earth Europe, LobbyControl and Spinwatch and every year has to vote in order to award the worst lobbyists in the European Union, as well as the worst Green Wash. The candidates are selected by the organizers who then put the full case online, with supporting documents. (more…)

Bravo! The “Act for Trees” operation was fruitful. The objective to create 100 million leaves in the virtual forests of the online game at www.act4trees.com was reached last week-end. Following a couple days of service unavailability for the website, the organizers seem to have chosen to reach their goal somewhat faster, by allowing the creation of 10 leaves per visitor click (initially 1 leaf per click). As a consequence, the virtual forests underwent a “bamboosian” growth and the objective was largely met (118 595 494 virtual leaves in total). This is inevitably good news for AquaVerde organization, who will get the promised 10000€ and will continue with its activities in favor of the protection of the Rainforest.

Extremely shocking… And to think it happens in France, “le pays des Droits de l’Homme” (the country of human rights) really freaks me out. Either one denies it and hides one’s shame to be French or one denounces it because it is not one’s vision of what France should be. I chose the second option. (more…)
