Coming back from Clear Lake. The sun is shining, the air is cool, we have good music in the car, and the landscape is beautiful! What more could we ask?

[side-thought. Once home, I need to try and play with MovieMaker. Good music for it: Break Me Gently (The Doves), That Fucking Jam (Ween), Take You On A Cruise (Interpol)]

We stayed two nights at Clear Lake. Sunday afternoon, we went on a beautiful trail that follows the McKenzie Creek down from Clear Lake and opens on three beautiful cascades formed by three different lava flows. Very impressive!

On Monday we left around 10am and went to “The Three Pyramids” hike, which is part of the Old Cascades Crest Trail. In about two hours, we climbed from 3830 feet up to 5618 feet, which is an elevation gain of approximatively 600 meters over a distance of 2 miles! This was definitely the best exercise I could hope for in order to be in shape again after being sedentary for about four years!

Right now my lovely husband is having fun driving the car on the Oregon roads, among the huge pines and sequoias, and with Pearl Jam’s “Green Disease” boosting in the car’s stereo. I myself feel so relaxed, so good in here, amid the hugeness of Oregon’s nature, with the sun to warm our hearts and the amazing mossy creeks to enlighten our minds! How could you not feel good?

Oregon trees…

..are so huge! I love them! I could spend hours just looking at them, detailing for myself the trunk, the bark, the branches and the leaves, the overall incredible splendor of it, and do nothing else, just be here, and feel happy and serein.
